In this biegungen night, music is not the only artistic medium. Intermediality is typical of all of the three acts presented, however in completely diverging ways, reaching from poetic to humorous and abstract approaches.
AugenOhrenHören – New Visual Compositions by Makiko Nishikaze
Composer and pianist Makiko Nishikaze presents new visual compositions, two with sound, three without sound. The films with sound are videos for her compositions for harpsichord and clavichord: carta marina more 4 and clavics-more 4.
Fazoletto per un Eternità (Handkerchief For An Eternity). New Pandemic Music and the Life of Mauricia/o “Farfalle” Pucci. Presented by Gabi Schaffner.
Quite a different “walk on the wild side” offers this documentary about the Italian new music composer Mauricio Pucci. Born in 1890 as a girl in a Tuscan village, she ran away and decided to take on the identity of a man. Fate sees her falling in love with New York composer Charles Griffe who later died of influenza. Back in Naples, Pucci founded the world’s first „Sneeze orchestra“, but found a comparatively early end in 1926. Women in Music are important: Mauricia Pucci's memory will be celebrated in the shape of 5 hand manufactured 7“ singles.
DYET plays The City of Repetition
The City of Repetition is an audiovisual tribute to the urban landscape of the city of Athens. Yorgos Dimitriadis and Erato Tzavara worked together for the first time at the INMUTE Festival 17 in Athens. This will be be their second collaboration and the first one under the name DYET.
