Vincent Royer

Der Bratschist und Komponist Vincent Royer konzertiert weltweit als Solist und Kammermusiker. Er gibt Meisterkurse, ist Mitglied diverser Ensembles und lehrt als Professor für Kammermusik am Conservatoire Royal de Liège. In seinen Kompositionen spielt das Moment der Klangforschung eine zentrale Rolle. Sein Werk Traverse ist im Jahr 2000 von der International Computer Music Conference in Berlin gewürdigt worden. Am Centre Henri Pousseur in Liège, mit dem Royer seit 2001 verbunden ist, entstand 2003 das Werk Lumen für Viola und Elektronik. Zusammen mit dem Informatiker und Komponisten Gerhard Eckel entwickelte er in Banff und im ZKM (Karlsruhe) Improvisationen für Viola mit Elektronik und einen Viola-Soundkatalog.

Violist and composer Vincent Royer performs worldwide as a soloist and chamber musician. He gives master classes, is a member of various ensembles and teaches as a professor of chamber music at the Conservatoire Royal de Liège. In his compositions sound research plays a central role. His work Traverse was honored by the International Computer Music Conference in Berlin in 2000. At the Centre Henri Pousseur in Liège, with which Royer has been associated since 2001, he created the work Lumen for viola and electronics in 2003. Together with the computer scientist and composer Gerhard Eckel, he developed improvisations for viola with electronics and a viola sound catalog in Banff and at the ZKM (Karlsruhe).
