vorfeld/heenan & alan courtis

21 Feb 2007 - 21:30

biegungen112:

Michael Vorfeld (Berlin) - drums and self designed stringed instruments
Chris Heenan (USA) - contrabassclarinet and alto sax

&

Alan Anla Courtis (Argentina) - guitar, electronics, tapes - plays music to argentine silent movies of the early 20th century

"This film contains some of the the earliest images produced by Argentinian cinematography. It compiles several short scenes that were shooted in 35mm from 1900 to 1924, many of them by unknown filmakers. Most of this stuff has not been screened in public for many years and it has an important documental and filmic value. Originally this movies were exhibited along with live music. In this program the sound will come from a live music performance oriented to experimental drone and abstract noise.
The compilation includes the following short shootings: La Revolución de Mayo (1910) by Mario Gallo, El Ascenso del Globo Huracán, Festejos del Centenario de la Revolución (1910) -unknown-, La Pampa (1922) and Exposición de la Industria (1924) by Federico Valle, Vistas y Actualidades (1910-1916) produced by Max Glücksmann."
